Applications are invited from Indian Nationals* for filling up of following vacancies of Pilots for its requirement on B-777 & B-787 Fleet to be initially filled up from Co-Pilots having B-777 Endorsement OR B-787 Endorsement OR B-737 Endorsement with Line Experience on Type.The remaining vacancies will be filled up from amongst Sr. Trainee Pilots (P2) with B-777 OR B-787 OR B-737 Endorsement/Type-Rating with no line experience on type. : -
Number of vacancies: 150 (SC-23, ST-11, OBC-41 & GEN-75)
Stand by Panels will also be formed for filling up of vacancies against the candidates who do not join/leave the Company during the validity of Panel.
Pilots from subsidiaries of Air India Limited are not eligible to apply.
Selected candidates will be initially appointed on Fixed Term Contract for a period of 5 (five) years,extendable by another 5 (five) years subject to satisfactory performance. Candidates will however, be considered for regularization of services at appropriate time, as per prevailing rules of the
Company.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AS ON 14.12.2016
Co-Pilots having B-777/ B-787 OR B-737 Endorsement/Type-Rating with Line
Experience:
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION: 10+2 from a recognized Board/University.
UPPER AGE LIMIT: 45 Years (50 Years for SC/ST & 48 Years for OBC Candidates).(Ex-Servicemen will be given age relaxation as per rules)
TECHNICAL/LICENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should be in possession of Indian:
• Current Class-I Medical Fitness Certificate issued by DGCA, India
• Current CPL/ATPL issued/ under issue/ renewal (with DGCA receipt) by DGCA, India
• Current FRTO issued by DGCA, India under issue/ renewal (with DGCA receipt) by DGCA, India
• Instrument rating on B-777 / B-787 / B-737 aircraft on Indian CPL/ALTP, issued by DGCA, India
• Current RTR (A) or RTR(P) or RTR(C) issued by WPC, Ministry of Communication, India or equivalent acceptable to DGCA India
• Valid B-777 / B-787 / B-737 aircraft Endorsement/ type rating on Indian CPL/ATPL
• Valid ELP on CPL/ATPL
• Minimum 100 hours of Line Experience on B-777 / B-787 / B-737 aircraft.

Note: Candidates should be in possession of the above Technical/Licence Qualifications as CURRENT at the time of appearing for Walk-In-Selection as well as at the time of joining.

Sr. Trainee Pilots (P2) with B-777 OR B-787 OR B-737 Endorsement:

• Current Class-I Medical Fitness Certificate issued by DGCA, India
• Current CPL/ATPL issued/ under issue/ renewal (with DGCA receipt) by DGCA, India
• Current FRTO issued/ under issue/ renewal (with DGCA receipt) by DGCA, India
• Instrument rating on B-777 / B-787 / B-737 aircraft on Indian CPL/ALTP, issued by DGCA, India
• Current RTR (A) or RTR(P) or RTR(C) issued by WPC, Ministry of Communication, India or equivalent acceptable to DGCA India
• Valid B-777 / B-787 / B-737 aircraft Endorsement on Indian CPL/ATPL

Note: Candidates should be in possession of the above Technical/Licence Qualifications as CURRENT at the time of last date of receipt of application/Simulator Proficiency Assessment Check (SPAC) as well as at the time of joining.
SELECTION PROCESS:
For Co-Pilots having B-777 OR B-787 OR B-737 Endorsement with Line Experience of flying on Type: Walk-in-Selection

Performa issued by the appropriate authority. Candidates belonging to OBC Category will be required to attach the Caste Certificate in the Performa meant for Central Government employment and the validity of “Non-Creamy layer” Certificate should not be older than 6 months from the date of eligibility criteria..

The envelope must be super-scribed “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF SENIOR TRAINEE PILOT (P2) WITH B-777 OR B-787 OR B-737 Endorsement”. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected.
Applications received late/incomplete/mutilated or without any of the supporting documents with regard to eligibility criteria, Demand Draft (if applicable), will be rejected. Air India will not be responsible for any postal delay/loss of any documents during transit.
SELECTION PROCESS:
After scrutiny of applications, candidates who fulfil the above eligibility criteria will be required to appear for a Simulator Proficiency Assessment Check (SPAC) on applicable Simulator at our Training Centre at Mumbai. The Cost of Simulator Check (Rs.25,000/-) will be payable by the candidate and a Demand Draft payable to Air India Limited, Mumbai will be required to be submitted before the Simulator Check. Candidates, who qualify the SPAC, will be required to appear for a Personal Interview.
Applicable to both, i.e. Co-Pilots having B-777 OR B-787 OR B-737 Endorsement with Line Experience on Type and Sr. Trainee Pilots (P2) with B-777 OR B-787 OR B-737 Endorsement COST OF TRAINING, BANK GUARANTEE, SERVICE AGREEMENT & SURETY BOND: Selected candidates will be taken up for training on any company’s aircraft: Management reserves the right to affix the training cost as per required syllabus of training of the selected candidates either on B-777 or B-787 aircraft.
For applicants whose Instrument rating (IR) is not current OR there is any other requirement for RECENCY (e.g. Renewal of IR, Familiarization, Base/Aircraft training), and the candidate is selected, the candidate will be required to pay the cost of training for RECENCY. The total Cost of Training required for the candidate to fly on line, as per Regulatory Requirements, shall be borne by the candidate, and the same will be recovered from the salary in Equal Monthly Installments during the period of contract.
In addition, candidates will also be required to give a Bank Guarantee from a Nationalized Bank of equivalent amount of the training cost. In case, the candidate leaves the Company before completion of 5 years of contract, the said Bank Guarantee will be invoked by Air India Limited for
proportionate amount.
Candidates would also be required to execute Service Agreement and Surety Bond for Service Agreement to serve the Company for a period of 10 years (Including extended period of Fixed Term Contract). In the event, the candidate leaves the Company before completion of 10 years of service, he/she would be liable to pay Air India Limited a sum of Rs.50 Lacs (Rupees Fifty Lacs Only) as liquidated damages in addition to invocation of the Bank Guarantee (if Valid).
STIPEND & SALARY:
During training, candidates selected as Sr. Trainee Pilots (P2) with B-777 OR B-787 OR B-737 Endorsement shall be paid a stipend of Rs.25,000/- per month. Candidates selected as Co-Pilots having B-777 OR B-787 OR B-737 Endorsement with Line Experience and who meet all DGCA, India’s regulatory & recency requirements to fly right away, will be paid a stipend of One Lakh, till all the requisite requirements are met. On successful completion of training, candidates will be appointed as Pilot on Fixed Term Contract for a period of 5 (five) years, extendable for another 5 (five) years subject to satisfactory performance. Candidates will be considered for regularization of services at appropriate time, as per prevailing rules and policies of the Company.
During the Fixed Term Contract, candidates selected will be paid approx. Salary of Rs.80,000/- per month which will be inclusive of Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Employer’s contribution towards PF and other allowances etc.. In addition to above, they will be eligible for payment of all the allowances at par with the regular Pilots in equivalent grade. Payment for Flying Hours will however, be made for actual number of hours flown in a month. No payment for Fixed Flying Hours will be made.
The post also carries other benefits such as Medical Facility for self, 12 (Twelve) passages in a year, Provident Fund, Gratuity etc., as per rules.
