State Bank of India to hire 2000 Probationary Officers and 5000 Clerks soon

Making a major recruitment announcement, the State Bank of India has said that it is going to hire 7,000 people in the current financial year. The bank will recruit 2,000 probationary officers and 5,00 clerks. The recruitment will be made to fill in the requirements of the branch expansion and the regular needs of the bank.
The bank is planning to have 700 branches this year taking the count to more than 17,000. Earlier this year, around 100 branches had already been set up and the remaining ones are set to be started in coming few months. Owing to rising competition and customer demands, the bank will expand their branches and will have a variety of channels.

One of the largest employees in the banking sector, SBI is currently having around 2 lakh employees including 45,000 female employees and 2,500 employees with disability across India. Meanwhile, the bank also announced to launch an e-wallet namely 'batua' for smart phone suers. This wouls be a multi-lingual app for feature (basic) phones. According to the bank, this is a first app of its kind for making the utility payments, transfer funds and buy air tickets etc easier for the customers at their finger tips.

SBI had conducted examination for the recruitment of Probationary Officer (PO) exams on July 26 this year to fill 2,393 vacancies. SBI holds different examinations throughout the year for recruitment on various posts. SBI is an Indian multinational, Public Sector banking and financial services company. It is a government-owned corporation with its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
